VicRoads Learner Permit Practice Test

When approaching a roundabout, it is crucial to give way to vehicles that are already circulating within the roundabout. This rule is designed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and to prevent collisions. By yielding to these vehicles, you allow them to pass through safely while maintaining the order of traffic.

Additionally, signaling when you intend to exit the roundabout is important for communication with other drivers. It helps to inform them of your intended direction, which enhances overall safety and efficiency on the road. This requirement of yielding and signaling embodies the principles of proactive driving, ensuring that all road users can navigate the roundabout without confusion or increased risk of accidents.

The emphasis on not speeding up to enter or coming to an unnecessary stop aids in promoting a safe and efficient environment while approaching roundabouts.
